    3. Hi gang, I'm hoping someone in this group can assist with my query, either with the info I'm after, or by pointing me to the appropriate site(s). I have recently come across a copy of an article about an ancestor of mine, and am hoping to confirm or refute a claim it makes. The claim is that this gent, Peter CONNELLY, was the man who ran the first pilot engine over the Ohio Railway. It does not detail which railroad, and the timeframe is pre 1854 (he was born 1812 in Galway, Ireland and had emigrated to Australia by 1854). Can anyone assist? Regards Kevin Ettery

There were any number of railroads/railways which used the word Ohio in their names -- Baltimore & Ohio (B&O) RR, Chesapeake & Ohio (C&O) RR being the two largest which were around under those names until the 1980s or so. Google for a Railroader's website, or the B&O Museum in Baltimore MD; or try the State Ohio's Archivist's website. Cheryl
