    3. Can anyone please help me? I got my father's birth certificate, from where I found his parents first names, which embed me to trace their marriage certificate, this gave me their ages. Now comes the bit where I need some advice. I went on www.1837online.com where I found three entries that could be my grandfather Thomas WHITBY and I also found quite a few that could be my grandmother Edith JONES. Is there a way of finding who of these entries are my real grandparents? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Terry

    3. Hi Terry, If as you state you have your grand parents marriage certificate then this ought to tell you their respective birth places, it ought to also tell you what age they where when they married, it ought to also tell you who their fathers where. This being the case you have enough information to find their births as you have the Ages at time of marriage( thus time period when likely born ) and you have the locality were born. Use http://www.freebdm.com as this will save you money on looking up the index's on line, then use http://www.1837online.com to view the certificates.
