I have been trying to find out who the parents of Nancy J. (Jane) Barton were. She is my great, great grandmother. I recently found out that she was born in McLean County, IL in 1842 or 1843, making her 7 or 8 years old for the 1850 Federal Census. The info that I have is from the 1880 Federal Census for Worcester, MA that states: Mary Jane Norton, born about 1843 in IL. Her father was born in MA and her mother born in NY.
