I urge those who wish to discuss methods to post their comments in the unmoderated group soc.genealogy.methods. One benefit is that those who are interested in methods might not have to wade through all the "lookup please" and "Blaha Genealogy" crap in order to learn anything. Speaking of which, I saw two weeks ago that there was a lively discussion of "laundry bluing" in the "moderated" soc.genealogy.methods, consisting of some 8-10 posts IIRC. These are posts the "moderator" thought appropriate and on-topic for the group, although Bob Heiling's post, which was on topic, was censored. What other posts is the "moderator" censoring, and for what reasons? If "does anyone remember laundry bluing" can get through, what can't? And why? Food for thought--at least for the unimpaired.

Two different news servers. Anyone who can do a google search can see that I explained this long ago, and that you, Lizzie doll, are not offering any revelations here. They are also the person who > badmouthed Dr Leverich in this and other newsgroups, I love the term "badmouthed." You are showing your ignorant roots. Leverich is not doing his job as a moderator, and was not when I said he wasn't at about this time last year. In other words, he is not reading and posting the posts. ANY posts. This is called "truth." Here is what might be considered "badmouthing:" You, Liz, are a puffed-up PHD-worhipping pedigree-wannabe intellectual deficient." >attempted to start > an unmoderated methods newsgroup by bypassing the norms of Usenet for > creating newsgroups (it seems to have sunk without trace) It's still there and currently has more posts that soc.genealogy.methods! LOL! Did Mommy tell widdle wizzie that if she said something with an authoritative tone everyone would believe it? Yes, I know that she did. > and does not > seem to have grasped the concept that moderators are volunteers and > perfectly free to climb mountains if they wish.... Sure I do. But the appropriate, effective thing for a responsible moderator to do is to delegate the task to others. It's simple. Try to wrap your cotton-candy mind around it. You might just get it. > > In other words she has a bagful of sour grapes and an axe for the > grinder. > > Not worth bothering with ... she can troll for her country ..... > > Liz (Greenwich UK) Once again, the Moron's Anthem: anyone who says anything they do not like is a "troll." I would suggest that you stfu, but you do offer entertainment value. Carry on, old girl. :')

By God, you are entertaining, Steve "tiny tafel" Hayes. :-) So, you're saying that the fact that there have been no posts at soc.genealogy.methods MUST be because the server is down? This has not been the case in the past. And then we have Bob Heilings accusations of "Zeig Heil " [sp] behavior on the part of the so-called moderator. The fact is, he does not moderate effectively.Everyone goes on vacation, gets sick, etc. What one does under those circumstances is to delegate one's responsibilities to others. > > > -- > Steve Hayes from Tshwane, South Africa > http://www.geocities.com/Athens/7734/stevesig.htm > E-mail - see web page, or parse: shayes at dunelm full stop org full stop uk

Looks like the moderator is on vacation... again. No posts for a full week.
