That's an unusual surname. I just looked it up in census pages, and looked for IZAN, IZEN, ISAN, ISEN. There were like less than 1000 people with that name in the US in the 1880 to 1920 timeframe. And the people were either from Germany or Russia. There were only a few people in MA with the name, and I couldn't find anyone with an occupation which involved shoes. The closest occupation was a Chiropodist. :o) (British term for our Podiatrist) I'll keep thinking about this. Betty ..
