Hello, I hopefully there are people on this List whose ancestors came from many countries (and continents). So, I'd like to ask a question. We see a lady in a restaurant on a regular basis, and my husband and I are trying to "guess" which country her family (ancestors) came from We finally asked her what her first name was and she said "Belin'ya" (Baleen'ya?) We don't know how she spells it My husband with ancestors associated with the Azores thinks that is an Azorean name. But, I think it is a name from India or Southeast Asia. Does anyone recognize that given name? One of the resources I use are "baby name books." You can pick them up very reasonably priced at 2nd-hand shops. I have one which is a "new age" type book offering names from "different family heritages." I checked the 3 books I have and that name isn't mentioned in them.
