Hello, One of the things that Sue mentioned this morning is that some early records only have a child of a couple written down as "a son" or "a daughter." I found this last year when trying to find the correct parents of my ancestor, Simeon CROSBY. He had married Lydia Harrington FROST in Cambridge. Other researchers had his parents as a couple from Billerica but who had moved to the Worcester area and had their son, Simon, there. I didn't think this was correct, so last year I took 2 weeks trying to find better information. Because the patriarch was Simon CROSBY, and one of his sons was a Simon CROSBY (Billerica), there were many sons born in the 1600's/1700's, named Simon. So, I tried eliminating them and couldn't find the one which fit the man marrying in Cambridge. With a researcher's help, I discovered that Jessaniah CROSBY in Billerica had a son born in the correct timeframe. But, the record only had him having "a son."
