I am attempting to reconstruct the life of an ancestor who moved as a school-aged child from Canada to Roxbury (or West Roxbury) in about 1861-62. Unfortunately, he and family left Massachusetts for Kansas before the 1870 census. His father JOHN E BANGS, physician, is listed in the 1866 Roxbury City Directory (92 Davis), but I have found no way to check for the whereabouts of the child, MARCUS LAFAYETTE BANGS (b. 1853).
