I had a phone call about 2 years ago from a distant cousin of my mother. His name is Roger Gilbert from New York. He sent me some pictures that surprisingly, my mother also had. He thought he had a picture of Elsie, but as it turned out it wasn't her. He also had a picture of mom's aunt and uncle that raised her as a teen. Aldea (Cote) and Arthur Edward LaMountain. It was their wedding picture. I had never seen that one. I have it posted in my family tree. I also have pictures of Uncle Art's brothers, Adolphus and Joe. I have lots of pictures of other LaMountains but have to scan them in first. By the way, your Aunt Connie is still alive and well. She's 86 as of May 1, 2011. She's quite sharp and quite the woman. Dad is also living, 85 and counting. Through Roger Gilbert we learned that Elsie LaMountain Tedford died in South Carolina in the '90s, I think. I have it saved in my iPhoto. I don't think that I've posted it yet to my family tree. I have pictures that I need to scan in also. We have very few photos of Elsie. I have a picture of your mom and her sisters at cousin Arlene Mooney's wedding from years ago. At least, I think that was your mom. At any rate, when I get the bug to do the research I try to confirm the facts with mom. If you need any help, please let me know. Also, if you have any pictures that you can share, that would be wonderful. I don't know much about the Gilberts but I would like to put that connection in with the LaMountains. My mother is very interested in what happened to her grandmother. She wants to know when she died and where. I found her mother's (Melinda LaMountain) obituary. She lived with Aunt Emma in North Adams. I think I saved that to my shoebox online. So cousin, if you would like to swap family histories, I would love to share with you. I have been copying family pictures from mom and dad's extensive collection for years. I'm trying to do this for my two sons so they have something to share with their kids some day. Please stay in touch. I promise I will look at the posts more frequently than a decade next time. lol Take care and I look forward to hearing from you. Your long lost cousin, Lori Anne Dargis Lasser Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
