She was the wife of the late Harold E. Hewes Sr. to whom she was married on Sept. 2, 1939. He died unexpectedly on Aug. 1, 2001. Born in Warren, R.I. on Dec. 8, 1918, she was one of nine children born to the late Stephen and Mary (Frigon) Boudreau. She resided in Warren until she moved to Attleboro in her youth, and resided there for many years prior to moving to North Attleboro in 1963. Mrs. Hewes was employed as an assembler at the former Krew, Inc. in Attleboro and later at Leach and Garner in Attleboro prior to her retirement at the age of 63. A former communicant of St. Mary's Church in North Attleboro, she had most recently attended St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church in the Attleboro Falls neighborhood of the community. Her favorite pastimes included listening to music, her love for flowers would often times find her gardening, and she enjoyed reading, solving word search puzzles and collecting dolls. However, her truest satisfaction and love came from the time she spent in the company of her immediate and extended family members. She leaves four devoted children: Carol A. Nixon of The Villages, Fla., and formerly of Plainville, Susan M. Moran of Lincoln, R.I., Robert H. Hewes of Franklin and Harold E. "Bud" Hewes Jr. of North Attleboro; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Paul D. Boudreau, Claire Murphy, Annette O'Neil, Juliette DeBlois, Irene Joyce, Henry Boudreau and Raymond Boudreau. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
