Pattee shows early land grants (1637-1644)on pages 27-31. The book is online at google books. I did not see William Cole listed. The men are listed with the number of heads and acres. It looks like they got 4 acres for each head. For instance, my ancestor, Henry Neale, got 12 acres for 3 heads. I am assuming that would be Henry, his wife, and a child. In looking for Henry Neale's land grant, I found out that the land grants are in Boston Town Records (vol. 2, page 49). I have not been able to find that volume online. Good Luck with your search.
