I know some of you wonderful people go to the MA Archives to research your genealogy. I was wondering if somebody could squeeze in a look up for me next time you went to the archives? My main line of research is HARRINGTON but I need research on CUTLER and/or/CLARK of Windsor, MA to solve a mystery. WYMAN CUTLER was b abt 1765 in Windsor, MA. He died at age 23 in Killingly, CT. His first child was WEBB CUTLER and he was born 3 Feb 1780 in Windsor MA when Wyman was just 15. According to WYMAN CUTLER'S Will and land records he married a woman named Anna(h) and I believe her last name to be CLARK. Because they were in Windsor when WEBB CUTLER was born I can only presume that they were married in Windsor MA before 3 Feb 1780(I would hope). After WYMAN CUTLER died Anna(h)(Clark?) married my ancestor Samuel HARRINGTON. On a family record it says children of Samuel HARRINGTON and Anna(h) CLARK: It lists first 4 children with the surname of CUTLER then 8 children with the surname of HARRINGTON. I have the death certificates of two of the HARRINGTON children and the father of the deceased is listed as Samuel but the mother is SOPHIA. What I want to do is get records that are more accurate than d.c. and compare the Harrington and Cutler children to make sure that ANNA and SOPHIA are indeed the same person and mother to both the Cutler children and the Harrington children and that Anna/aka/Sophia is married to SAMUEL HARRINGTON. If somebody could find a birth listing for WEBB CUTLER b 3 Feb 1780 in Windsor, MA it may show his mother's full name such as Annah CLARK. Or if there are any church or town records showing the marriage of WYMAN CUTLER in Windsor probably before February of 1780, it would surely show the bride's name and hopefully it will say Anna Clark. I will then get birth or marriage records of the HARRINGTON children and compare names. Does anybody on the list recognize any of the aforementioned people and have any info on them? Is anybody willing to look up birth or marriage records for me when they go to the MA ARCHIVES? I truly appreciate any consideration and time you give to this matter. Note that he could not have been born in Windsor in 1765, because that town was incorporated in 1778. From 1771 to 1778 part of what is now Windsor was the town of Gageborough (previously part of Plantation Number Four), and part of what is now Windsor was was a portion of Plantation Number Five. I find no records of the Cutler family in Windsor from the 1778 incorporation of the town through 1850. What is the source for Windsor, MA as his birthplace? The Cutler surname was not uncommon in Connecticut at that time - have you looked at Windsor, CT? Dale H. Cook, Member, NEHGS and MA Society of Mayflower Descendants; Plymouth Co.
