Are there listings of men who served in militias and wars before the Revolution, especially around 1710-1740? John and Richard Hixson were brothers born about 1690 and 1692, who lived in the part of Dorchester that is now Sharon. Their death records (1751 and 1776) list John as "Ensign" and Richard as "Lieutenant." I would like to find something about their military service.
