In the 1850 census for Waltham, Middlesex Co., Mass., dwelling house 123, family 180 (the first two columns in the census) housed about 30 people. The first person is listed as C. F. Page, age 49, male, hotel keeper born N.H. I can't tell what street it's on. It may have been a boarding house rather than what we would call a hotel; the couple I was looking for were there with three young children. Does anyone know Mr. Page or have any pointers about hotels or boarding houses in Waltham? I can't find Page in the 1860 census. adTHANKSvance! Carol B. P.S. The spelling etc. may be off even by census standards. I was looking for Dwight Hixon & family; this census lists him as L. (or D.) Huckson, but from family details I think it's the right family.
