Thanks to Farns10thAaol.com re: the Scottish in Kittery ME,, I have an ancestor William Gowen (same name as in your email of 3/17/09) b 1634 in Scotland, and d. 1686 in Kittery, York, Maine. He married Elizabeth Frost b. 1640 ma. 1667, d 1733 in Kittery ME. They had 6 ch. all born in Kittery ME between the years 1667 to 1684. I didn't know how or why my William immigrated to NE. Since you mentioned a William Gowen in the list of "15 Scotchmen" who worked there, I wonder if you could tell me what sources I can look into to see what ship he saled on. Some of my Gowen family are from Medford MA .thanks again, Isabelle/CA
