Betty: Interesting comment. I have an ancestor who ships clerk on Old Ironsides in 1839-40 voyage. Note that the ship is at dockside most of the time. I believe they move it once a year about July 4th weekend when they reverse it at the dock to make sure it weathers evenly. a good thing to check out if planning a visit to Boston.
