Numerous Newfoundland families are of Irish descent. I am looking for a female Cullen/Phillips woman whose parents died circa 1898. My grandfather believed he had a sister who was adopted by family members in Massachusetts upon the death of both of his parents. My aunt further believes that she may have a given name of Catherine/Katherine, or otherwise known as Mary Kate. My aunt believes that this woman may have been a nurse or some other type of care giver on or about 1920. It is even possible that she supported the WW1 troops injured in battle using her nursing skills. This woman may have identified her parents as James Phillips and Bridget Phillips nee Williams of Newfoundland or a John/Michael Cullen and Mary A. Cullen nee Phillips of Halifax, Nova Scotia. The latter Cullen couple were Newfoundlanders, but immigrated to Halifax, Nova Scotia circa 1900. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
