Hi Steve Thanks for the info....yes it seems that this record has been upheld as evidence by researchers that this is John Young born about 1748/49 s/o John Young and Susannah Getchell and that he married Elizabeth Bailey. However I have found information by one particular researcher and she writes that the file held by DAR has copies of numerous letters basically saying......... Yonnaca Webb received a pension, but the Pension Office later revoked it based on a letter to the War Office from the local Postmaster alleging that John YOUNG had already been married to a woman still living at the time he "took Yonnaca to live with him." No evidence of the alleged first wife Elizabeth was found, but rumors in the town were that the first wife claimed property when John YOUNG had died. The file contains a handwritten letter from John to his wife Yonnaca while he was in service, a copy of a handwritten page where John wrote the birth dates and names of all his children (which the family was required to cut out and submit as proof to the courts), letters between the gossiping postmaster and the pension office and between pension office and Yonnaca YOUNG's attorney. Also, the Rix Manuscripts which have quite a bit of info on Lisbon NH including genealogies of various families including the Young family also makes reference to Elizabeth Bayley as a wife of John Young. It lists the children of John Young as follows however it does not identify the maternal status..... I) Abner born Jan 21, 1769 II) Polly born Nov 6, 1771 m Simeon Clement & went to Canada III) Benjamin born Feb 28, 1773 IV) Hannah born Jun 17, 1774 m Nov 5, 1802 Theodore Ela and had 2 children V) Richard born Dec 25, 1776 – died same day VI) Guy born Oct 4, 1779 VII) John born Jun 17, 1781 died before 1791 (twin) VIII) Jehu born Jun 17, 1781 (twin) married Ruby Richardson ~ went to Jay VT IX) Hiram born Jul 25, 1783 X) Nathaniel born Sep 6, 1785 XI) Sophia born Aug 7, 1787 XII) Murray born Aug 14, 1789 XIII) John 2^nd born May 11, 1791 XIV) Diana born Sep 15 1793 (twin)............. died a young lady XV) Damon born Sep 15, 1793 (twin)..........
