I am trying to find out out more details on a John L Lewis, the grandson of a British Army Officer. This officer was captured at Boston in 1776 and was in Concord jail. He drew a sketch of the jail which was donated by Abiel L Lewis of Framington or Simon Brown to the Free public library of Concord around 1855. Apparently the sketch was found in papers of the grandson J L Lewis. The sketch is supposedly described in "Winter" by Doneavista ??? (I can't read the writing in the reference) Feb 9, 1858. Apart from the historical interest in this British Officer, I am interested in why his grandson would be in Massachusetts. Ed Brumby, Scotland
