A youth named Charles H. Thompson was arraigned on a complaint containing three counts, charging him with breaking and entering the printing offices of Messrs Learned,Thompson & Co. (Boston Shipping List), and stealing $50 worth of type. The other two counts charge the accused with breaking and entering the office of John H. Mansur & Son, on two occasions, on one of which, it is alleged he stole $4 worth of postage and revenue stamps, and on the other, clothing valued at $8. A brief examination resulted in the accused being committed for trial in default of bail in $2000. _____________________________________ Boston Journal May 11, 1870 CRIMINAL MATTERS In the Superior Court, criminal session yesterday, Rockwell J., the following sentences were imposed: Charles H. Thompson, breaking and entering the office of the Shipping List, and larceny therein, three years hard labor in state prison.
