    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: bbffrrpp Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.massachusetts.unknown/7399.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi Dorothy, I have several sets of genealogy-books I'd .like. to write and have published. * But, one of the many reasons I don't even start such a project is that I don't know if I could find a .publisher. to make them up into books. However, I can make 2 comments. Maybe 12 yrs. ago I found out on my .local TV station. that someone had written a family-history book in the next town - and got it published. It was a thick, complex book about the PATIENCE name along the Connecticut River Valley. I borrowed it from the library and read that the man (researcher) had gone to a Historical Society in the area he was researching. This particular one did book-publishing, and they published the book. And, 4-5 yrs. ago the Billerica Historical Society decided to start publishing small books. I think they limit their decisions to small, paperback books. I only have one because my ancestor is mentioned in it, and it is nice. I don't know how you find out which Historical Societies in MA do book publishing. Maybe the Ref. Depts. in the larger, city libraries could offer some suggestions. You mentioned the BPL; perhaps they know. Betty (near Lowell, MA) (on Lists and Boards for 10 yrs.; now an Admin for 9 Lists and 3 Boards, including the new Board for New-England-Research) (there is already a List for New-Eng-Gen) * IF I had the wherewithal, I would write a set of 4, small books about each set of my great-grandparents. Each set had a story to tell. And, I'd love to find an author who would be willing to write an historical novel based on my grandmother's life. This is the twice-orphaned grandmother who spent Age 10-20 in .homes. in Downtown Boston. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
