There are a number of trees on WorldConnect giving Elizabeth's maiden name as MADDEN. Can anyone produce documentation for that? Also William's lineage is given on about 102 trees (some with sources but no documentation), all which state that the gr-gr-grandfather is William HOLMES m. to Catherine HILYARD. However, the only source that I have found so far is the Yorkshire Visitation that states William HOLMES (the gr-gr-grandfather) was married to Ellen HILYARD and who had no son William (gr-grandfather) to my ancestor William who married Elizabeth and settled in MA.
