    3. Hello, This morning on the daily "Mass Moments" note it discusses the famous author, Henry Wadsworth LONGFELLOW (1807-1882). The article says he had 6 children, so he must have had many descendants. Does that name still exist in New England? And, it says his mother was descended from "the Pilgrims," including John ALDEN. But it doesn't mention his parents' names. http://www.massmoments.org:80/moment.cfm?mid=343 Oh, this site says his parents were Stephen LONGFELLOW and Zilpah WADSWORTH, and he grew up in the (now) WADSWORTH-LONGFELLOW House. His grandfather was Peleg WADSWORTH, a general in the Rev. War. Henry was one of 8 children. He and Frances APPLETON had 6 children. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Wadsworth_Longfellow Just an FYI for you. But, it's curious that these surnames are very rarely seen on the Lists. And, this page talks about John ALDEN and Priscilla MULLINS, and that they had 10 children survive to adulthood, and they had many notable descendants. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Alden_(Pilgrim) Betty (near Lowell, MA) P.S. A researcher in CT has been trying to prove that her ancestor, Mrs. Rhoda (MANCHESTER) (LAVARE) CLARK, with parents a MANCHESTER / TOMPKINS couple from Westport, MA (and RI) were Mayflower descedants. And, I think she said that the mother was descended from John ALDEN. She is descended from a LAVARE son, and I "think" that I am descended from Rhoda's CLARK daughter.
