The Town Clerk in that time frame seems to have noted the non-Salem spouses in intention and marriage records. In that record Joseph was noted as being of Lynn, but no town was noted for Clarinda [Salem VR 3:565]. >Another researcher said he married in Salem, MA, in 1836 to Rebecca >NOURSE. This Joseph was noted as of Danvers in the intention [Salem VR 3:565]. This couple had one unnamed child born and died in 1837 in Lynn [Lynns VR 1:228, 2:520], and Rebecca did die there in 1839 [Lynn VR 2:520]. I find no other birth or death records for either family in Salem, Danvers or Lynn through 1860. Since Rebecca died in 1839 it could be that only one Joseph S. was the spouse in both marriages.
