Are the Charlestown VR part of the Massachusetts Vital Records Project? If not, do you know why? I noticed that some of the towns like Cabridge and Somerville that were originally part of Charlestown are listed under Middlesex County. Do you know anywhere online that one can find them? The records in that project are generally from Tan Books that are in the public domain. Charlestown VR was published by NEHGS in 1984 (Vol. 1) and 1995 (Vol. 2), and so is still under copyright. >I noticed that some of the towns like Cabridge and Somerville that >were originally part of Charlestown are listed under Middlesex >County. Somerville was incorporated in 1842, and no vital records volume has been published for it - one ending at the standard cutoff of 1850 would be a mighty puny volume. Dale H.
