I am currently going through a book called Walter Merryman of Harpswell, Me and his Descendants , by Charles Nelson Sinnett, as he's an ancestor. I'm down to a part that lists the origins of Sarah WHITE, ancestor of Sarah BAILEY that married Thomas MERRYMAN. I have Sarah WHITE as being born in Weymouth, Ma abt 1648. She married John BAILEY 25 Jan 1672 Weymouth. I've come across 2 different sets of parents for this Sarah. I've seen that she was the dau of Peregrine WHITE (Mayflower), which is what Sinnett claims in this book. but I have also seen parents as Gowen WHITE and Elizabeth WARD. I've checked many different publications, and the parents are split between them. So, I'm now thoroughly confused, of course. Can anyone tell me if the parentage of this woman has been absolutely confirmed, and if so, where can I find the source?
