    3. Hi Janice, Thank you for posting this. John KIDDER is one of my ancestors; he was one of the 12 children of the patriarch, James KIDDER, of Cambridge and Billerica. John married Lydia PARKER (of Abraham) in Chelmsford, and they also had 12 children. Unfortunately there is very little information on them, especially the daughters. I go from their son, Thomas. I believe it is the "KIDDER book" which has a mistake. It says that it was only John KIDDER who bought the land. One of the "history of Lowell" books also said the correct information. And one book said that John sold some of the land near the Pawtucket Falls for "a bushel of corn." Because I know the area, I believe that the Wamesit Purchase involved what is now what is referred to as "South Lowell" (a neighborhood in the city). And part of that is the meeting up of Chelmsford and Tewksbury. And there is a part of the northern part of Tewksbury which is called "Wamesit," and in a very small park there is a statue of a Native American man. In "South Lowell" the set of cemeteries are part of it. The area involves Gorham St. (3A) in Lowell and the adjoining neighborhood is the "Back Central" neighborhood which is part of "Downtown Lowell. Both neighborhoods have the Concord River, which came up from the "Concord Falls" in Billerica. Just an FYI for you. Betty (near Lowell, MA) (By the way, a reminder that there are books about the Concord River, especially ".. a Week Along the Concord and Merrimack Rivers ....")
