    3. The entries were found at NEHGS in a search for the surname Capen in the Massachusetts Vital records to 1850. The listing produced by the search show the surname as Tertius, but that showed up because the search was for Capen. Sorry if it was overkill on the data shown. I get carried away. I was Tertius meant third, but couldn't find it in a Google search. I was looking for confirmation on the meaning. My spousal unit could not remember the Latin either. He took Latin in high school, I did not. After 45 years, he is entitled to have replaced the knowledge of a dead language with other stuff!
