    1. [GENMASSACHUSETTS] Missing birth records??
    2. Richard Noble
    3. Sue: Not sure if you would have the answer or not. According to the census records, and the WW1 Draft Registration cards, William John Salter was born 27 February 1893 at Lexington, Mass. His brother Lewis Albert Salter was born 17 January 1895 at the same place. Later their half sister Gertrude M. Salter was born 25 May 1900 (SSDI) Yet none of those people show up in the Mass. birth records index?? Were people skipped, or do we have a transcription error?? Ric

I do not see any of them in the printed indices. The only Salter I find in Lexington is Catherine, wife of William, who died in 1895 in childbirth, age 36, born in Ireland, daughter of John Moriarty [MAVR 455:207]. She married William Salter 13-Apr-1890 at Concord. That record shows her born at St. John, New Brunswick [MAVR 407:107]. Dale H.
