Hello all, Many thanks to all of you that responded so generously to my request.I really appreciate the information. Dianne, thanks so much for that obit, I have not seen that one. I should have posted this request long ago! Spencer was my husband's maternal great grandfather. His father, Nicholas Alessandre Apollonio, was the registrar to the city of Boston from 1854 to 1891. Strangely enough, there is much that I don't know about NA, and as Sue noted, he himself was a friend to genealogists.A Google search of NA's name shows mostly his signature on other couples' marriage certificates! NA had three marriages, but Spencer's mother Rhoda, his second wife, has been swept out of the biography entry in Boston To-day by Richard Herndon, altogether. Thank you again Maria
