Her parents were Hugh McPhail and Mary Douglas. She had the following Brothers and Sisters: Mary McPhail Sep 26 1819 Barony Flora McPhail 1827 Barony D: 1871 Glasglow Malcolm McPhail Mar 18 1831 Barony John McPhail Mar 30 1833 Barony Agnes McPhail May 14 1838 D: 1864 Lakeside, ON Canada Isabella married James Burns B: 1819 Sct-1892 Lakeside, ON Ca between 1857 and 1860. It was orginally thought that Isabella immigrated to Canada straight from Sct but new info shows that she immigrated to Massachusetts first and then immigrated to Canada with her sister Agnes after marrying James Burns who was already settled in Lakeside, ON (East Nissouri Township County of Oxford). Looking for any McPhail info in Massachusetts trying to determine if any of her brothers or sisters immigrated and Isabella and Agnes followed. I believe they still lived there in 1885 as I have a newspaper article that reports that Isabella was away in Massachusetts visiting.
