Looking for the marriage of Dina Gregoire and Louis Henry Tharee Vincent (alias John T. Vincent) for several years, without luchk. Now I have a second reason to pin down the marriage... Contact with a grandson living in Arizona. He would also like to find the same data. Have not been able to locate info in Quebec where they were both born so I'm thinking they married in Lowell around 1884 or 1885. What I do know: Dina was the daughter of Francois X. Gregoire and Nazarine Morin Louis (alias John T), son of Jean Baptiste Vincent and Zoe Beliveau He owned a grocery store in Lowell in the 1890's and seems to have had a lot of real estate dealings as well. Hi Sister, There seems to be several VINCENT families / people in Lowell in 1880. There is a Louis VINCENT from Canada, but already married with 7 children. He has a son, Louis, 18, but the mother's name is Aurelia. This looks like the couple in 1900: VINCENT, JOHN (1900 U.S. Census) MASSACHUSETTS , MIDDLESEX, 7-WD LOWELL Age: 50, Male, Race: WHITE, Born: CANA Series: T623 Roll: 661 Page: 110 Dina is 40, and it says they had been married for 17 years. She had 9 children, but only 3 were living. The children mentioned are Annais, 11, Bertha, 4, and Oscar, 1. It says he arrived in 1879, and she arrived in 1883. He is a grocer. If you need more details, let me know. In 1910, there are a few changes; the wife is Diana, and she had 10 children, but only 3 live. This time the children are: Anna, 21, Oscar, 11, and Edward, 8. And this time it says the couple were married 26 years. This time it says John arrived in 1881, and it says "own income." In 1920, some of the information is different again. This time the wife's name looks like Dinah (sp?). And they have Oscar and Edward still living at home. And this says John arrived in 1868. (I think 1879 was the year he was naturalized.) John is retired by now. It looks like Oscar is an electrician ??. That's all for now. Kim and Sister Gregoire, The entry should be Oscar Marie Vincent. It is not uncommon for an amended record to have part of the prior or following entry in it, which is the case here. I will correct the entry. 1898 volume 94 pg 333 is an amended record. The image isn't available yet, but will be when the images for amended records to 1900 are added. I know that the NEHGS has received the first four microfilms of the amended records, but don't know when they will be added. There are some issues with what to name the images so they are different from the regular volume 94 pg 333 for a much earlier time frame. Just a note, the NEHGS is getting the microfilms from the Family History Library by request from the Massachusetts State Archives, since most are still in the vault and normally not releasable. For Sister Gregorie: I sent some material to you a while back, but never heard anything from you. I'm wondering if it was either the size of the images and it looked like they went, but didn't. Please let me know.
