What I am really looking for is an uncle who was born with Downs Syndrome and died as a young child. Back then it was a disgrace to have a child that was different and doctors insisted that they be put into an institution. I can find no records of birth, institution, or death. Everyone in the family has now passed on except for one uncle who denies anything that has to do with the family secrets.
