Their older son, James H. Lamb (Jr.), apparently had some sort of mental problem. He was born about 1846 in Mass. but I have been unable to find a birth or death record for him (or a birth record for his older sister Ella Sophronia Lamb). 1850 census and 1855 Mass. census: can't find the family. 1860 census (Framingham): father listed as Harrison Lamb, farm labor. Son James age 14, described as "fits, insane." 1865 Mass. census (Holliston): father listed as James H, cordwainer. Son James H. Jr. age 20, invalid. 1870 census (Holliston): father James H. works for boot factory. Son James H. age 25, no occupation, "idiotic." 1880 census: the family had moved to Cleveland, Ohio. Son James H. was not with them. Maybe son James was placed in a mental asylum after 1870. However, I cannot find a later census record or a death record for him in either Mass. or Ohio. Suggestions appreciated! Carol B. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
