a short time ago. My inbox is being inundated with requests from non list members. Is there a way to block these? They fill up my mailbox and half the time it seems the people requesting just want someone else to do their work for them. And there are so many of them I am afraid I will miss an actual email from a list member.

Or even Boston papers. I know ships leaving from New York went to Liverpool mainly - I've found several of mine this way enroute to Australia. I have no idea if passports were being used in UK but it seems perhaps they were in the US in a haphazzard arrangement. My great-grandfather got a passport from New York in 1853 as did his friend, but others of that year coming to Australia do not appear to have done so. His daughter was born in the US in 1867 while her mother was visiting the US. Her parents who lived in Australia were both American. Her father had become naturalised British subject (Australia) in 1863, so she was considered Australian/British subject. My ancestors returned to the UK sometime between 1855 and 1861 but as they were UK citizens it would appear that the UK records will not catch them. Is there anywhere else I can check? Would UK citizens have had passports at this time? Their youngest daughter was born in Boston in 1854, would she therefore be considered a UK or US citizen......? Any guidance would be appreciated! Hi, I am looking for the marriage record, date of Thomas and Ellenor Lambert, they were married around 1800 in Massachusetts possibly Essex County. They moved to Brewer Maine by 1820. I am trying to find out Ellenor's maiden name and where in Mass they lived. They seemed to have taken in grandchildren in Brewer Maine and raised them. Thanks, Susie

I would keep that death certificate, put it aside and keep poking around - maybe the informant Thomas is the son and maybe he messed up the info or maybe that is what he was told.
