There is a Peter John Joyce age 80 currently living in St. Augustine, Florida, with a birth date of 11 May 1932. Could that be the one? Note that per Ancestry's England & Wales Marriage index, when he married Shirly A. Gardner in 1956, he is listed as John P. Joyce. On the other hand, there is a Peter J. Joyce who died in Massachusetts 16 Dec 2004 and is buried in West Roxbury. Any additional information may be helpful. MR Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. They must have known each other - in the 1918's they lived in same area in Cambridge? Do you know what John Clarke did for a living? -- Elliott and Alma Louise Allsopp were married in Cambridge on Oct 19 1913... I could find a record of only one child born prior to 1916.. (MA records only available until 1915 online) ---That child was Maggie Iola Moore born on June 4 1914. At that time of her birth the family resided on 161 West St, Lynn. https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-267-11692-55339-71?cc=1536925&wc=11695209 ---Based on marriage date, and info above, I'm guessing that Garfield was born after 1915 and as such was under 3 yrs old at the time of his death. --In 1918 Elliott and his family lived in Cambridge at 11 Pine Street - his WWI Draft Registration says he was working at General Electric in Lynn. --In 1920 Census, Elliott and his family still lived in Cambridge at 11 Pine Street. He was a moulder - Iron Works. ---I looked at the death record for Eileen - she only 2 when she passed away. It says that her family lived at 72 Pleasant Street, Cambridge. She was born in England - so her family was new to the area. --I google mapped the addresses - not that far from each other - under a mile - Central Square general area...so maybe in a park or the store or... As to no stone - not surprising - young families...they had other expenses.. Good luck.. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. My mother is Jean Curley and her mother was Susan Harrison Curley. Her parents were Benjamin Harrison and Annie Courtney. I am in touch with Tom Harrison, Joe Cosgrove (his mother was Mary Harrison) and I was close to Jim McKenna whose mother was Annie Harrison. Also some othe McKenna's. Tom Harrison has put up a family tree site on the internet. He still needs to update the Courtney information that I gave him. There had been some initial guesses on Courtneys that I have proven incorrect based upon receiving the marriage certificate of Benjamin and Annie as wells as death certificates I have on them. They are both buried in Medway, MA. I go back on the Courtneys to Annies parents Bryan Courtney and Catherine Madden. I have traced their deaths and their parents names but still working on it as the next line was in Ireland. Benjamins heritage has been more challenging with stories from my Mother and her cousins that he may have been bro! ught up by his sisters, he was an orphan or many other stories. In research I found some potentials in NY city as have others but I am not convinced they are accurate. I did find that there were a lot of Courtneys and Harrisons in upstate NY with farms. I have found trying to figure out how they might have met ha helped on other family searches. Benjamin and Annie were married in Dorchester but how did she meet Benjamin when he was from NY, etc. Some point one of us will figure out Benjamin. Hi This has been a great site for MASS and NEW ENGLAND genealogies. Do any of you know of a similar group for Hesperia Michigan area where I might post a plea for help in FINDING my Murphy family that moved out there in the late 1860's? I would like to find out if there might be any present day descendants of that branch of the clan still in that area as well as more information about those ancestors themselves. All help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
