This is about a yDNA project of the MacKintoshs (any spelling) from Glenurquhart, Inverness, Scotland. George's GGrandfather migrated to NS in 1801 with at least three other Glenurquhart MacKintosh families. I have been trying to locate a descendent in NS for some time without success. You have discovered that William had a son Albert Raymond born 1901 so I will follow up. I appreciate your efforts. The census listed 13 people at this residence. Stephean Ligus, Joseph,Peter, Anna, Velodeslaufe, then Magdelena Slinarski age 28, W. Slinarski age 24, Velanslaufe Slinarski age 2. I've been told the Ligus family is related to the Swinarski family in Ware. I believe back then with a heavy polish accents that Slinarski should have been Swinarski. If Magadelina was Married in Three Rivers in 1908, they could have gone to Ware by 1910. Interesting to see how the last name may have changed Ligus, Liguz, Ligorz. Yes, I have no idea what I was thinking - it is 'John Peter Joyce', although very strangely I have John's DOB and he was born 11th May 1932! What are the chances. He was known as 'Peter' to friends, but he was registed as 'John Peter' on his birth certificate (I've ammended the post to avoid further confusion!). John's father was Joseph William Joyce (1901-1976) born and died in England. John's mother was Edna Ellen Rimmer (1904-1989) also born and died in England. Joseph and Edna had no other children. My mother-in-law would love to be able to write to any half-brothers or sister she has, so that is really my goal. Thanks again for your help. Jenny.
