I have seen that information since it was all after he had been married to my grandmother. The information missing that I am researching is prior to 1931 before they were married. I wonder if he may have changed his name at some point. There is no information coming up on him prior to 1930's. I am not even aware of how they met since her family had been settled in the Waynesboro/Chambersburg, PA area for generations. When I was looking for his birth I checked online at the Mass Archives and familysearch and couldn't find it but that doesn't mean it's not there, it could be that it just did not get into the database. If you can you could go to Mass Archives and look in their books and then on the microfilm to see if you could find it. Author: jenb73 Surnames: Trainer Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.massachusetts.unknown/7548/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am looking to knock down a brick wall in my family history search. My grandfather, Alexander Alfred (or vice versa) Trainer b: 6/5/1904 - 12/20/1992 was said to be born in Everett, MA. He later married my grandmother in 1930 I believe in PA but cut himself off from his family and would not speak of them. Supposedly he has a twin sister. There is talk that his parents were named Samuel and Catherine but I have not been able to find any facts that validate this. He does not show in any census prior to 1940. HELP! Any suggestions would be helpful. I have ordered the orginial application that he submitted in PA for his SSN#. I haven't been able to order a death certificate yet. It is in Florida. The only surviving relatives are my father and 2 of my father's brothers. Neither of which have any further information. From what my father tells me, his dad did not keep anything so there is no paperwork to be looked through. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have used familysearch a lot it is a very useful sight. I can get back father than Kathleen. I knew about her Aunt Margaret O'Callaghan's Blanchard who lived in Belmont Ma. and I did find her natulization papers. Wiahfull thinking when I meet Kathleen she would have known about my family. Just can't find anythingf to link our families together. My grandmother had mention Margaret Blanchard to me as her cousin. Other members in my family also knew we were related but no idea which side of the family. I suspect it goes back to the 188o's. There is a site - free databases - www.familysearch.org - has state databases, US databases(military, census etc) and there are some databases for Ireland. You could search there with some of the info you have and see what comes up. There is also www.rootschat.com - England and Ireland message boards. There are probably some Ireland message boards at Ancestry also. Good luck Margaret Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I had talked with Kathleen Haines and she had no idea. I would be intrested if any of the family are intrested in family history. I think the relationship may be with my Barrett or O'Sullivan side of the family. I also had written to Marguerite Connor who was related to Kathleen Haines and she did not have the answer. I saw Marguerite Connor had passed away last month. She did send me a letter with some family information. I am unable to find the letter but I do have a copy of page 1 on my computer page 2 I am not finding on my computer. Author: bananti Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.massachusetts.unknown/7546/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I'm trying to complete the McGrath section of my family tree. I live in Ireland and know that William McGrath Drumbrissny Boyle Co Roscommon and Mary or Maria Breheny married in Coothall Church 05/03/1868. They had at least 6 children including Teresa, William. Elizabeth, Patrick and Catherine my grandmother. My father had two cousins they were brothers Pat McGrath and Joseph (know as Josie) who I think emigrated to the the US after 1939. I have no idea what area they went to so I'm just making a guess at Mass because my grandfather had a lot of his ownfamily(bloodline) in Worcester Mass. One of them ( I think Josie) was best man at my parents marriage in Manchester in England in 1938. They all returned to Ireland in 1939 and sometime after that the McGraths went to America. I've searched the Ellis island Passenger list for 40s without success. I'm just wondering if there's anything else I can do to further my search. I would be most grateful for any suggestions. Thanks. Author: csfeingold66 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.massachusetts.unknown/7230.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I did find out that the Capt Hall's first name was James. Reuben Hall could have been aboard the Dartmouth as a junior officer or a seaman and a relative of James Hall. Family lore said Reuben knew very little about farming when he removed to Ashfield and pulled his beans up thinking they were weeds. So it is quite possible he was a sailor while he lived in Yarmouth. I feel the story bears truth in that he was a man of the sea and may have been in Boston at the time of the Tea Party and a witness to some activities. Several Hall families left Yarmouth and went to Ashfield at the same time. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 2. Ms Betty Fredericks
    3. Hello,   I just discovered last week that the FITZGERALD List is .. up for adoption.     Because the surname is not on .my.  family-tree,  I'm not interested in adopting it.    But, I thought other researchers might consider it.   For a couple yrs. I researched the FITZGERALD family-tree for a close family-friend  (large, 2 generation family).    I had gotten their ancestors back to Ireland, and I had found the missing grandfather of the older generation.     I post all my findings on the Lists and Boards, as I have time,  so the information is posted.   But, it might be on the FITZGERALD Boards, and not on the Lists.   H A P P Y    N E W     Y E A R   !!!   FYI:     Which one of your  "brick walls"  will you concentrate on during 2013? :o)   Betty                 (near Lowell, MA)   (on Lists and Boards for 11 yrs.;   now an Admin for 10 Lists and 5 Boards)   (all is well here)
