Pattee shows early land grants (1637-1644)on pages 27-31. The book is online at google books. I did not see William Cole listed. The men are listed with the number of heads and acres. It looks like they got 4 acres for each head. For instance, my ancestor, Henry Neale, got 12 acres for 3 heads. I am assuming that would be Henry, his wife, and a child. In looking for Henry Neale's land grant, I found out that the land grants are in Boston Town Records (vol. 2, page 49). I have not been able to find that volume online. Good Luck with your search. According to the 1930 US Census Your James was 39 yeas old and it indicates his age was 31 at the time of his first marriage. That would make his marriage about 1921. Marriage records after 1920 are only available at the MA Registry of Vital Records and the city/ town clerks office where the marriage occurred. There is an index at the MA Archives as well. You will not find that marriage record on the internet. Unfortunately, not all genealogy records are available on the internet. I am trying to determine if the Patrick J. Lindsay found on the family search.org site in a 1904 death is part of my Lindsay family. It says he was born in Ireland abt 1846 parents were James Lindsay and Elizabeth mcGovern. He died 8-7-1904 at the Insane Hospital at 2 Endicott Ct. Burial is at Holy Cross Malden. Appears he was admitted in 1901. He had a daughter named Elizabeth Lindsay Ferri or Ferry who husband was Fillipio Ferri. Also went by Philip and Pellegrino Ferri. Could anyone help me find an obit or if anyone is searching this line it would be great to speak to you. Thanks Lindsey

Betty H. Pruitt, The Massachusetts Tax Valuation List of 1771 (Camden, Me.: Picton Press, 1998). I am looking for information regarding Samuel Johnson/Johnston/etc who may or may not have been in Newcastle (New Castle), Lincoln County, Maine/Massachusetts at that time. I'd be curious if there were other Johnsons there at the time. Thanks! William D Romanski Rhode Island Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
