Her SS death index indicated she died in SC. I don't understand why the obit was in a GA paper. How did you find it? I appreciate the lead because now I can try to track down my cousin. Thanks again. You've been a great help. Are you a friend or relative of Elsie or her daughter? Or do you just enjoy researching to help others? A search of library catalogs indicates that the 1933 edition was a revision of the 1887 edition, edited by Amos Everett Jewett (who should properly be noted as editor rather than co-author) and published at Rowley by Newcomb and Gauss Co. The 1981 and 1997 editions both appear to be reprints of the 1997 edition. It took a bit of searching to correct the publication info, because although I have long had the 1887 edition and the original EIHC series I have not seen the 1933 edition (apparently a limited edition, possibly of only the 250 copies signed by Jewett) or its later reprints. BTW, the full name of the original author was George Brainard Blodgette. Dale H. Cook, Member, NEHGS and MA Society of Mayflower Descendants; Plymouth Co. Caleb would have been about 19 in 1670, and although he could have married at that age it is more likely that he married a few years later. Dale H. Hi Michelle and Everyone, All the reels for the Federal Census's are freely available on the Internet Archive. I've created finding guides to help you find the ones you want. http://Guides.DonsList.net It's not as convenient as just clicking on a link and having the right page show up. But it's fully accessible and takes just a minute or two to find what you what, once you've gotten familiar with it. FamilySearch.org provides ample information to find the correct reel and the correct page within the reel. What you need is the name of the state, the municipality, the ED number, and the reel number. You also need the sheet number and the line number within the sheet is helpful. When you go to my site, click on the year for which you want to find a reel and page, e.g. 1930. A list will appear in the upper left frame with the names of the states and links for the reels for each. The "index" links aren't live yet for 1920 and 1930 because the Internet Archive hasn't finished digitizing the Soundex index reels for those years. But the "Census" links are. Click on the one for the state you want. A list will appear in the upper right frame a live link labeled by the number of each reel and a description of each reel by state, municipality, and ED's covered. If the search handed you the reel number, just scroll down to that one and click on the link. This will spawn a new window or tab opened to the correct reel on the Internet Archive. Now jump forwards and backwards through the reel to find the page you want. The ED and sheet numbers are shown consistently in the same place on the pages of the reel. For later census's, this is the upper right corner. I hope you find this helpful and would be happy to post back to answer questions if you or anyone else has questions or gets stuck.
