A quick look at census pages and I see there were 8 households with the BRIDGES name in York County, Maine, in 1790. And, 10 more households in other counties in Maine. And, 20 households in MA. There were about 100 households with the name in the US in both 1790 and 1800. And, about half as many in both years for the BRIDGE spelling. But, in both cases, I'm not seeing anyone in Ohio those years. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Hello, I don't think I've mentioned my great-grandfather's 2 brothers in a couple years. But, I'm still interested in finding out more about them. Especially I'd like to find out where Joseph KERR died in MA, probably during 1950's. I'll just briefly mention that these are the 2 couples: In 1887, Joseph KERR married Sarah McLEAN near Boston, MA (Joseph was the son of Robert KERR, and Sarah was the daughter of James McLEAN) In 1889, Robert KERR married Margaret / Marguerite McLEAN / MacLEAN / LEAN near Boston, MA (Robert was the son of Robert KERR and "Maggie" was the daughter of Magnus McLEAN) Probably shortly after 1900, the 2 couples left Everett, MA, and moved out to Everett, WA. I think I just found Robert and Margaret living in Everett in 1900. I don't think I've found Joseph and "Sadie" in 1900. But, the 1910 and 1920 census have them living in Washington State. And neither couple ever had children. And in WA they always lived in the same home. Both "Maggie" and "Sadie" KERR (probably cousins) died fairly young, possibly during 1920's in WA. Robert lived a long life, dying in WA in 1950. But, his death-notice stated that his brother, Joseph, had returned to MA. And, I believe it said he was living in Dorchester at that time. Joseph had been born in 1863 in Canada, so by 1950 he would have been in his late 80's. I don't know if he came back to live with a relative, possibly his wife's family, or whether by then he was living in a "nursing facility." Joseph is not buried with his parents in Everett, or his older brother, William, in Malden. And, I think his married sister is buried in Somerville. So, I have no idea who would have arranged for his burial. Thank you to all the researchers who have helped me in past years to find out more about these couples. Betty (near Lowell, MA) (William KERR married Elizabeth HANNAH in MA in 1876, and they were my great-grandparents. Most of the family of Robert and Elizabeth (HENDERSON) KERR, came down to MA from the Prov. of Quebec between 1870's and 1885. But, I don't know what happened to their first daughter, Hannah Jane KERR, up in Canada. The 1881 census in Canada had Robert and Elizabeth (both born 1827 Canada) in Compton Co., P.Q.)
Joseph Collins wife Alice in Ware Mass....would of had a daugther 7 Mary Alice.... or a Walter Louis Knorr......he would of been very young also.....like Mary Alice.... Thank You..... Kathleen Mayo Kendrick
Working on the Griffin Geneology .I am searching for the children of William Griffin and May Elisabeth Sweeney from Cap Forchue, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia, Canada. They immigrated to Mass. Between 1920 and 1945. They are all born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. 1. Mary Catherine Griffin (born October 8, 1900, married to a Joseph W. Kiranne, and lived in Boston in 1964 at the time of her Brothers death, William in Yarmouth). 2. Agnes Beatrice Griffin (born July 4, 1904, lived in Boston in 1964) 3. Margaret Ellen Griffin (born Nov. 12, 1906, lived in Boston in 1964) 4. Betha Modeste Griffin (born Nov 2, 1908, married Al Amirault and lived in New York in 1964). 5. Joseph Donald Griffin (born Jan 12, 1911, lived in Boston in 1964 I found 3 documents (Border Crossing from Canada to US and US to Canada) One for Agnes Beatrice arriving in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia who was coming from US in 1920. Another one for Agnes Beatrice arriving in Calais, Maine, from Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada, on Dec 12 1952. The last one is for Margaret Griffin who arrived in Yarmouth from the US on Aug. 1922. They had a sister, named Florence born Sept 30, 1917 who married Walter Roussell and lived in British Columbia Canada, she passed away April 1984 in Langley, BC. William Griffin died Dec. 1917. May Elisabeth remarried a Edgar Post in Digby and died in June of 1951 in Digby, Nova Scotia. I married a son of their nephew who knows that they lived in the US since they moved there, but lost contact totally. I don't even know where to start searching for them or their family. I don't know where to go for the married certificate, death certificate, etc. I found a site for vital statistics, but not much help. Can anyone help me with this. I thank you in advance.

Hello, Where would I go to see a copy of the MCCOOL Marriage Volume 191, Page 26? Would the copy be at the Massachusetts Archives in Waltham? Is it possible to get a copy of the marriage certificate? Thanks for any information. Joan ------------------------------------------ James gravestone reads: Erected by Cecilia McCool In memory of her husband James McCool Died Dec 21 1874 Aged 35 years Native of Clonmany Co Donegal Ireland Their children Daniel Died Dec 19 1872 Aged 1 year 11 mths Edward Died Nov 9 1873 Aged 9 mths (The last line is undecipherable)
Thanks for everybody's help! I don't know maybe there isn't a record of the marriage. This much I am sure of: The parents of James were Edward and Ann from County Donegal, Ireland. James did marry Celia in Boston, Ma. They did have their children in Boston, Ma And he did die in Boston in 1874. His wife Celia put up the stone before she went back to Ireland. Joan
