Have possibly narrowed down my ancestors to Moat, Kilbegnet, Roscommon thanks to Griffith's Valuation. Does anyone have any information on the Catholic churches existing in Kilbegnet parish @ 1840-1860? Obviously focusing around the Moat area. Thanks - Matt Croghan

Thanks Brian - The link to the Glinsk area was exactly the reference I was looking for, even a history of the original church. It's hard to orient oneself geographically when I'm 8,000 km away. A great help. I'm learning a great deal about 19th-century Ireland, in a way more interesting than the search for my family. :-) The National Library website was fascinating, I found the link you mentioned regarding the parish registers. Thanks again - Matt San Diego, California
