    3. Thanks for continuing to dig, Dennis. This is a good possibility. What does the WAT. in the address mean? Do you have any info on Lismore? Any info on cause of death? Would a death cert. be available? Any family names?

Do you have any info on : Lismore? WAT is the Chapman county code for county Waterford, Ireland. See http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/IrelandCodes.GIF for the other Irish county codes used in this database. For the rest of the world's Chapman codes, see http://www.rootsweb.com/~wlsgfhs/ChapmanCodes.htm For info on Lismore and Waterford, see http://tiara.ie/places.htm#Waterford : Any info on cause of death? Would a death cert. be available? Any : family names? Newspaper death notices are often brief, but depending on circumstances, may indicate cause of death and mention family members. Keep in mind that this particular index is not limited to formal obituaries, but includes deaths by accident, suicide, homicide, and judicial executions. Civil records of death did not begin until 1864 and are not always that helpful. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Dennis Ahern | Irish Death Notice Database ahern@world.std.com | http://www.irelandoldnews.com/obits/ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Some are on the IrelandOldNews.com website. Some may be in the possession of volunteer indexers. Some are online at other websites. Some you may have to find on microfilm, or at the National Library in Dublin, or some similar source. Send me an email that includes the index entry in question and I will try to answer. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Dennis Ahern | Irish Death Notice Database ahern@world.std.com | http://www.irelandoldnews.com/obits/ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
