Anyone out there with knowledge of history of Irish photography? I have a GGGrandparents photo from approx. 1860's County Cork. Any way of identifying time period/location from clothing? Father is wearing a hugely distictive bow tie! Thanks for any help.

It may be possible to estimate the period based on the technology, whether it's a tintype, Daguerretype, etc. The National Library in Dublin has a photographic archives that may be able to help if you send them an image of the photo. -dja
