From The Irish Times, 9 November 1922 - COUNTY SLIGO CLOONACOOL SHOOTING. DEAD MAN'S WIFE TELLS HER STORY. Dr. O'Hart held an inquest on Frank Scanlon, creamery manager, Cloonacool, Tubbercurry, who was shot on Monday morning by a raiding party of national troops. Mrs. Scanlon, wife of the deceased man, stated that when a knock came to the door at 2.30 a.m. her husband looked out of the window, and was told to "open the door quick, or he would be made." He said, "Don't, don't." She went down and opened the door, and her husband rushed out of the back door.
