    3. My Husbands Great-Great Grandmother was also a Breen. There is a web- site called: clan of the o'brien's (Cant remember the actual web- address) & it gives the history of the name from Brian Boru to present day. Breen has evolved into LOTS of spellings including O'Brien. Seems like alot of the changes came when families immigrated to the US or Canada & didn't WANT to be identified as being Irish.
