I'm not trying to prove he was in the Garda. But if I had more info on the shooting incident, perhaps the sergeant's first name, that would shed more light on the issue. For those who know about the R.I.C., would it have been likely that they often lived away from their families? I understand that they could not serve in their native counties or that of their wives. To my knowledge, his wife lived most of the life in Labasheeda, CO. Clare. She taught at the National School there.
