The indexes to the "civil" records pre 1922 remained in Dublin. See http://www.groireland.ie/research.htm Note they do photocopies - at least for those that are there in person. Those I have had - they p'copy the page and then trim the entry, so one gets a slip, not a sheet. One can get certificates for events in what became Northern Ireland from Belfast (http://www.groni.gov.uk/index/family-history.htm) but they cost more than the p'copies in Dublin.
