Transcribed from the 29 January 1824 edition of The Enniskillen Chronicle & Erne Packet newspaper, by permission of The British Library: Whereas in the month of November, 1822, two men, lunatics, were embarked at New York, on board the schooner Mary Ann, of St. John's [sic], New Brunswick, in the care of a person calling himself Kelly, professing that he was on his way to Ireland with the said Lunatics, where their fathers resided, and were wealthy men. On the passage to Halifax the Vessel touched at Edgar Town, in the Island of Martha's Vineyard, in the State of Rhode Island, where Kelly landed with the Lunatics, and deserted them there in a very destitute condition. Being unable to give any account of themselves, they were taken care of by the Overseers of the Poor, and sent to Boston, where the British Consul obtained admittance for them into the Lunatic Asylum at Charlestown, in that vicinity, where they still remain at the charge of the British Government. The names of the men are James and Jacob, but their Surnames are not known; it is supposed that they arrived at New York by the Albany steam-boat, and it is said that Kelly acknowledged he had received 400 dollars to take charge of the men. Any persons who can give information in regard to these men, are requested to state the same to the Lords of the Treasury, Whitehall, London; or to the British Consul, at New York. N.B.--The descriptions of the persons of the Lunatics have not been received. ========================

Norvin, There are several websites for immigration arrivals: Ellis Island 1892- 1954 http://www.ellisisland.org/ Castle Garden 1820 - 1892 http://www.castlegarden.org/ These two are for immigrants that came through New York. There a couple of good sites if you have time to look through them for New York, Baltimore, Philadephia, New Orleans, and Boston: The Steve Morse site: http://stevemorse.org/ The Ships List site: http://www.theshipslist.com/ The Imiigrants Ships Transcribers list: http://www.immigrantships.net/ Bill ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to GENIRE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

Different people with different trades there in 1910 and 1911. I had wondered whether it was a nursing home or similar. My aunt was born there, later, in 1918, which is a bit odd, as her parents were then living in Newtownards Road.

It doesn't show up as in Belfast, but as in Ormeau in County > Down. Ignoramus that I am, is Belfast in two counties? The census is subdivided in the order : County -- DED (District Electoral Division) -- Townland or Street. Sometimes the DED takes its name in whole or part from an included town or village, the only example in Belfast being Belfast East in County Antrim. Belfast is indeed in two counties, Antrim and Down, separated by the River Lagan that runs through the middle of the city. Hope this makes it a little clearer, Roger

Have you seen a wonderful, delicate work without a worker ?! It's you and the whole universe!.. Who has made them all ?!! You know who ?.. It's "ALLAH",prise be to him. Just think for a moment. How are you going to be after death ?! Can you believe that this exact system of the universe and all of these great creation will end in in nothing...just after death! Have you thought, for a second, How to save your soul from Allah's punishment?! Haven't you thought about what is the right religion?! Read ... and think deeply before you answer.. It is religion of Islam. It is the religion that Mohammad-peace upon him- the last prophet, had been sent by. It is the religion that the right Bible- which is not distorted-has preached. Just have a look at The Bible of (Bernaba). Don't be emstional. Be rational and judge.. Just look..listen...compare..and then judge and say your word.
