They are the sort of thing better shared with one's own family. Very frankly, I thoroughly enjoy the many submissions by Edna Wakeham, who sends great items and keeps the site alive. I have come to depend upon having SHORT humorous jokes on this site, so that I can selectively copy and paste to my e-mails, to print and further mail to friends who need a "planned laugh!" Among those who are on my list of recipients (thanks to Edna's flow of tested humor) are my doctor, lawyer, VET, and those without a computer. Repeatedly, the doctor and Vet tell me how much they appreciate the print-outs they receive from me every couple of weeks, knowing an envelope from me is guaranteed to brighten their day (after all their daily stressful dealings with "people-with-problems"). They tell me they even use many of these jokes when speaking at their weekly "Lion's Club" meetings. Edna Wakeham's work, in posting such great stuff, is very far-reaching; finally I can let her know how much she is appreciated and how widely circulated. Barbara Jean Green

    3. Wow--- I can't believe this! Look people, you can't expect Edna to carry this whole list. While I enjoy her postings, I also enjoyed Diane's postings. GenHumor <http://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/index/other/Miscellaneous/GenHumor.html> - http://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/index/other/Miscellaneous/GenHumor.html For the exchange of genealogy and family humor including poems and jokes. This mailing list is lumped into the genealogy category on rootsweb. I'm pretty sure from the description that humorous family stories are what this list was intended to be for. It doesn't say copy jokes from all over the internet and post to this mail list. There are hundreds of places to find jokes online. Maybe if this list wasn't so stuffy, other people would post. I think this list needs folks like Diane to change it up a bit from what this list has become. Edna does a great job, but why do you folks intimidate others from posting? If you don't like what's being posted, delete it. Easy as that. A few people shouldn't be able to control this list. It's for everyone. And no, I haven't posted to this list because of exactly what you folks have done to Diane.
